My First Brittle making Experience

Peanut Brittle
So the first time i made peanut brittle it was a delicious (thinking of the Black Eyed Peas when i typed that word) sticky mess.  My first candy making experience.
 ingredients
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of light karol syrup
1/4 cup of water
2 cups of peanuts ( I used planters)
1 teaspoon baking soda
butter (opional)

MMMh Peanut Brittle
I put a large pan on the stove on high heat in the pan. Add the first 3 ingredient, stir and let it come to a boil. When the sugar comes to a boil add the peanuts stirring constantly. Watch carefully for a honey-ish color, keep stirring. when you get the faint smell of peanuts take it off the heat and add baking soda, the brittle will foam a little, pour it on your cookie sheet (I usually butter the cookie sheet, that sweet salty flavor so good). Let it cool for about 10 minutes or until it's harden. When it harden i take the meat tenderizer to break it up, BE GENTLE TO THE BRITTLE. At this point i get the Homer drool going on. Be SAFE Candy Making :)
